10:00am - Open House

Take your time enjoying all the different planes that will be on display, from Warbirds to Fighter Jets, Vintage Aircraft, aircraft restoration projects, and a pilot planning to fly around the world in a Piper Seneca.  We will also have all 3 major Aviation Colleges in Michigan represented, Aircraft Manufacturers, and numerous other booth sponsors.  EAA will be selling Ford Tri-Motor rides for their upcoming Ford-Tri Motor event in July.  There will be something fun for everyone!

12:30pm - T6 Formation Screaming Rebels

The North American Aviation T-6 Texan was a single-engined advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), United States Navy, Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and into the 1970s.  Watch skilled pilots fly them in formation.

12:45pm - Greg Koontz Super Decathlon

Greg Koontz performs his Super Decathlon Act.  The Lycoming AEIO-360 engine with 180 horses, inverted fuel & oil systems and large wing allows for an up front and down low performance. Greg Koontz flies this popular plane through a solo aerobatic routine that demonstrates its agility with a full set of outside loops, vertical rolls, snaps & tumbles and inverted passes. The grand finale is a down low, in the dirt inverted ribbon cut!

1:05pm - Crosswinds Fly-By

Get a good look at Founding Sponsors Crosswinds Aviation aircraft fleet as they fly-by at cruise speed.  This year featuring the Diamond HK36 Motorglider and Phil Bozek’s TBM 900.

1:15pm - Kevin Copeland Super Decathlon

Enjoy Kevin Copeland perform his Super Decathlon Aerobatic act.  Kevin’s act is sponsored by Midwest Air Taxi.

KC Aerosports, LLC is based in the Traverse City, MI area, operated by Kevin Copeland, that offers upset maneuver recovery training, spin training, scenic air tours, basic and precision Aerobatic lessons for pilots, and Aerobatic thrill rides for non-pilots, all flown over the beautiful Grand Traverse Bay area.

Kevin will also participate in aerobatic competitions around the midwest region as a member of the International Aerobatic Club (IAC) and perform in Air Shows with his Super Decathlon.

1:25pm - Warbird Thunder

Watch as our skilled pilots fly everything from The North American Aviation T-6 Texan to the F4U Corsair in formation.

1:35pm - Chicken Drop Competition

Enjoy watching 14 pilots show off their targeting skills by dropping rubber chickens on a target on the runway at full cruise speed.  This will no doubt be pure entertainment and the winners will be awarded these fabulous trophies!

1:45pm - Doug Dodge Biwing Machira

Doug Dodge and Machaira, a ‘One of a Kind’ Muscle Biplane. Doug Dodge began flying airshows in 1974, in a Messerschmitt Monsun and Bucker Jungman. Since that timeframe Doug has flown both as part of two formation teams and in solo performances throughout much of the United States and Canada. Doug is Airport Manager for the James Clements Airport, located in Bay City, Michigan, where he also owns a shop specializing in aerobatic aircraft. ‘Machaira’ named for the Greek word meaning two edged sword, was designed and built by Doug, based on the size and dynamics of the Pitts Special.  Machaira is powered by a Lycoming 10540, modified to produce 325 h.p.

2:00pm - Greg Koontz Alabama Boys

Greg Koontz will perform is signature Alabama Boys Act.  Flown in the 1946 Piper J-3 Cub, this act begins as Greg – farmer Clem Cleaver – climbs up on the announcer’s stand, demanding a flight lesson. Later in the show, he “steals” the plane and takes off alone, with his whole crew chasing. Grandpa shoots off a tire to get him down, and Clem lands on his pickup truck as it races down the runway.

2:15pm - Jet Fly-By

Watch skilled pilots of the hopper flight team fly the L-39 Albatros in formation flight.

2:30pm - Single Ship F4-U Corsair demonstration

The F4-U Corsair is one of the most amazing aircraft ever built.  Enjoy the awe of this high powered machine to close the airshow.
